If you are serious about incorporating Feng Shui into your life, the very first thing you need to know is your Kua Number. This number will tell you what your auspicious locations, elements, colors, etc are and is vital for personal use. I found a FREE Kua Number Generator program that you can download and use for any member of your family in order to personalize their Feng Shui experience. IMPORTANT NOTE: If you were born in January or February of any given year, you may need to enter the prior year as your year of birth. For example, for many years I have thought I was a Boar (no PUN intended) according to Chinese Astrology because I was born in January 1959. However, once I started studying Feng Shui, I found out that your Kua number is based on the LUNAR calendar. The lunar year actually starts towards the end of January or mid February - depending upon the year. So, to make a short story long - I found out that I am a Dog - not a Boar. : )

Below is a chart that will give you when the lunar year began. So, if you were born prior to the date that the year began, when you calculate your Kua number, you will need to enter the year prior to the actual year you were born. For example, I have to enter 1958 instead of 1959 for my birth year because the lunar year did not start until Feb 8 in 1959.
